Five years after graduating from EURECOM, Mohamed Njeh (Class of 2021) is now a Technical Manager in Trustworthy Systems, Cybersecurity & ML Security at IABG in Munich.

Originally from Tunisia, Mohamed studied at SUP’COM before joining EURECOM through a double-degree program. After three semesters in Tunisia, he chose EURECOM to deepen his expertise in Digital Security and gain hands-on experience in a highly international environment.

His career started with a semester project. Today, he works on complex cybersecurity challenges at the intersection of security, systems and AI.

So, what has changed since his EURECOM days?

“There is no typical day”

Mohamed’s role has evolved from Digital Security Engineer to Technical Manager. Today, he can lead a technical project, work on complex problems with his team, coordinate experts and partners, or present solutions to clients.

The one constant is learning.

“The field moves fast, which is demanding, but it also means the work never becomes routine.”

And that is probably one of the biggest challenges of working in cybersecurity today.

Cybersecurity + AI: a field that keeps moving

For Mohamed, cybersecurity is changing rapidly, particularly as AI becomes part of both attacks and defense.

Cloud security, identity and access management, and AI security are areas he sees as increasingly important.

His way of staying current is simple, follow research and industry blogs, but also get hands-on with new technologies whenever possible.

What would he tell his EURECOM self?

Take projects and internships seriously.

“My own job came from a semester project I did with a company during my studies.”

For Mohamed, these experiences are not just lines on a CV. They are opportunities to discover what you enjoy, build relationships and sometimes open unexpected doors.

His own path is a good example: a project with IABG during his studies eventually led to his first job there.

And EURECOM, five years later?

The technical knowledge obviously matters. But when asked what he uses most today from his time at EURECOM, Mohamed points to something broader:

“Be open to new technologies and challenges and therefore learn fast and adapt.”

A useful mindset when your field changes as quickly as cybersecurity.

And his one-word description of EURECOM?

“A chance.”
